EML files processor

High-level description

EML files processor is a part of the Intake framework that recursively extracts EML file content.

The typical Business Process with EML files processor looks as follows.

How to use

  1. Provide the step that exports the _sys_transaction_id column or uploads data as a .csv file. The .csv file should include the single column: _sys_transaction_id.

You may use the TransactionCreateFakeConnector test connector. This connector is implemented for testing purposes only. It generates a test transaction with a single document. The document points to the example.eml EML file by the originalDocumentLink property: https://wfinst-307-92-db1.workfusion.com/doc-upload/example.eml.

  1. Go to the side panel on the right > the Bot tab (Other) and drag-n-drop the EML files processor Bot Config from the Intake Bots BCB. Its name is Intake Bots <VERSION> (EML files processor).

How it works

The EML files processor iterates over all the transaction documents.

  • The originalDocumentLink document property is treated as S3 URL to the EML file. If the file extension is not .eml, a document will be not considered. In the resulting transaction, such document is preserved as it is.
  • If the originalDocumentLink property points to the EML file, the EML file itself is saved into the resulting transaction as the origin document (see the Processing result code block below).
  • The EML message body is saved as a separate document and stored on S3: originalDocumentLink="eml_flatMap/<Generated_document_UUID>.html, where <Generated_document_UUID> is the document UUID generated by the processor.
  • Each MIME part extracted from the EML is also saved as a separate document and stored on S3: originalDocumentLink="eml_flatMap/<Generated_document_UUID>.<Extension>", where <Generated_document_UUID> is the document UUID generated by the processor, <Extension> is the MIME part file extension extracted from EML.

Inner EML MIME parts are also extracted recursively with no limitations.
