Set up Secrets Vault

The Intelligent Automation Cloud provides Secrets Vault (formerly Secure Storage) functionality intended for storing sensitive data (i.e., login, password).

To start managing Secrets Vault, go to System Settings > Secrets Vault.

tip

You can read, write, and delete records from Secrets Vault by using Secrets Vault plugins.

Filter

The standard filter feature introduced for Secrets Vault allows the following:

• filtering the required aliases as per your rules
• limiting visibility of the aliases to other users

Assign permissions

You can assign granular permissions to users in Secrets Vault. Refer to the Role Management page.

The Intelligent Automation Cloud Enterprise provides Secrets Vault functionality intended for storing sensitive data in (login, password, +alias) format.

Add Secure Entry

To add a new Secret Entry, do as follows.

1. Click on the Add button above the grid.

2. In the popup that follows, enter Alias, Key, and Value for this Secret Entry. Alias serves to distinguish secure entries and must be unique.

   

3. Press Save. As a result, a new entry appears in the grid.

Add Bulk Entry

You can also create Secure Entries from file (for example, if you want to create multiple entries).

1. Create a CSV file with three columns: alias, key, value. See the example below.

   

2. Click on the Upload Data button. The following popup appears.

   

3. Press Add and browse the .csv file on your local machine.

4. (Optional) Click on the Options link and set File Separator and/or File Encoding, if needed. We recommend using Comma separator and UTF-8 encoding.

   

View Secure Keys and Values

To view Key or Value, do as follows.

1. Hover over the appropriate grid cell. The View/Update button appears.

   

2. Click on the View/Update button and view the appropriate value.

All Keys and Values are automatically hidden when you leave the page or reload it.

Update existing Secure Entry

To edit a Secure Entry, proceed as follows.

1. Hover over appropriate grid cell in the Alias column. The Update button appears.

   • Manage Secrets Vault Aliases permission provided

   

   • View Secrets Vault Entries permission provided

   

2. Click on the Update button. The following popup appears.

   • Manage Secrets Vault Aliases permission provided

   

   • View Secrets Vault Entries permission provided

   

3. Enter a new key and a new value. Alias cannot be modified.

4. Click on the Update button.

Delete Secure Entries

1. Tick check boxes opposite appropriate grid entries.
2. Click on the Delete button.
